Module 6- IS DONE!!!!

Hi all,

I've finnally gotten Module 6 done.
My favorite part of the whole thing was getting to work with Camtasia's screen video function. I think that is the best program that I have seen. I showed you all my Flash tutorials that I did for my masters program at U of MN. However, I don't have server space, so I sent it on to Janet. Hopefully, she can get it up into WebCT for you to see.

Here is my SnagIt. My friend Chris (Who's in our class) gave us the link here at UNLV. It is one of the coolest websites I know of because it allows you to use all of the search engines at one time. Is that not cool or what?

Module 6-Impactia

Hi all,

I've done my impactia presentation. It went really well considering. The sound quality isn't the best, but I think that could be improved by a better microphone and possibly not using the record function in PowerPoint. PowerPoint is not the best way to make audio recordings, since audio was not why it was developed. Audio was and after thought.

PS. I had to email my presentation to WestGA. So I don't have a link here for you.
Sorry.

Using Survey Monkey

Hi all,

Just finishing up Module 7-Surveys.
This was probably the most enjoyable part of the course. I didn't have any software downloading issues. . . Oh wait, I didn't have to down load anything. . . Thank GOD!!!.

In all seriousness, I've seen Survey Monkey before in my technology classes at the U of MN. The instructor used it as we worked our way through our Flash Modules getting feedback on the modules for improvement. Especially when we couldn't get the module to work the way it was suppose to because the tutorial on the code section wasn't written right.

It was fun and every easy to use Survey Monkey. If I was doing a class on line, I would use it after each module so that I could tweak the modules and improve them for the next go around. Sort of an on going Beta test for my course. No course is ever "done" so to speak. They always need to be changed and tweaked to meet the needs of the students in the class at any given time.

Using Raptivity for Module 9

Hi all,

I tried to do the Raptivity assignment and ran into this error message.
It scared me because it said that I had to download yet another program to get their program to work. So far in this course, I've been lucky and not downloaded a virus, but I didn't want to risk it.

So I tried to do the assignment through a program we have here at UNLV called Respondus. It is a third party software program that runs through our WebCampus/ WebCT. I put my questions about this course into a Respondus file and then added them to the University of Utah site that I have that has several games that will take a Respondus file and turn it into an interactive quiz. Just to jazz up the experience for the student.

If your university has Respondus for your WebCampus / WebCT (I'm not sure if it works on Blackboard). Here is the link I used : http://www.uvsc.edu/disted/playstation/

Now, I have to figure out a way to get it up on to the server so that you can see it.

Podcasting--My Experience

Make a written posting on your blog near the end of this module about your podcasting experience. Was it easy or challenging? Did you try anything beyond the scope of the assignment? What did you learn? Also, mention the podcasts of at least two class members that you visited (after you subscribed). What about their blogs impressed you? Any suggestions for improvement?

I found the recording of the Podcasts fun. It was the putting it up that was very difficult.
I had to send it to Melanie as an email, since I don't have anything that will work. Odeo is a frustrating program it only works with IBM platform computer and I have a Mac at home. I had to adjust my Java at worked wich means that I could not do my job because WebCampus, Our WebCT, uses and older version. Something that I would not do. IF that makes me a bad classmate, then I'm sorry. Personally, I think it makes for a bad instrutor to not find a program that can be used on both programs. To not find a program that won't cause problems with WebCT, since that is the program we are suppose to use as students in this class. Yes, I am very frustrated with this class, but like any student I do what I am told.

Audio by phone

Audio by phone isn't always the best.
Here's my attempt.
